Healthy-ish English Scones

Hellooo! Today I wanted to share with you my first recipe on this blog. I love scones (Just thinking about them... Mmmm) and this healthier version of them is incredible! Sundays morning breakfast is the perfect time to make them and eat them :-) Don't forget that they're still a treat and even if they are a healthier version they're not super duper healthy ;-) They are very easy to make so anyone can do it! Let's go in the kitchen!

For this recipe you will need (for about 12 scones)

280 g whole wheat flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
100 g butter
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 tablespoon honey
1/2 cup milk (I used almond milk)
120 g pitted dates cut into chunks
100 g rolled oats

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 200°C.
Combine flour, cinnamon and baking powder into a bowl
Add in the butter, rubbing it with your fingers
Add in the chunks of dates
Combine milk, honey and vanilla extract in a separate bowl
Pour the liquid ingredients into the dry ingredients
Mix until you have a sticky dough
Sprinkle half of the oats on a working surface.
Place the dough on top, sprinkle the rest of the oats and press gently until the scone dough is about 2.5 cm thick.
Cut into rounds (I used a glass to do it)
Place onto a baking tray
Bake for 20 minutes or until they are golden brown
Serve warm with ricotta and jam on top, Enjoy!

This was the recipe. Tell me if you made some and if you liked them as much as I did!
I will talk to you soon,

Clinique Chubby Sticks

I like Clinique as a skincare brand a lot and I never had the opportunity to try out their makeup. Around christmas I treated myself to this cute little kit with four mini size Chubby Sticks (found them here).

I got two "normal" and two "intense". The intense ones are very pigmented and give your lips a lot of colour. The normal ones are more like tinted lip balms and are very sheer on the lips.

06 woppin' watermelon - 05 plushest punch - 15 pudgy peony - 08 grandest grape

All four are very moisturizing and great to wear on the lips. They don't stay so long on my lips but it's not really a problem because you don't have to worry about the application which is really easy! I think I prefer the sheer ones just because I rarely wear a bold lip on an everyday basis, so I wear the normal ones more :-)
Have you already tried them? which one is you favourite?

I will talk to you soon,

Jo Malone Cologne

I am a huge fan of perfume and when you can personalize them as you wish I like them even more! I don't really like when I'm walking in the street and can smell somebody else wearing my perfumeI like the concept to have one smell that suits you and your preferences and nobody will smell exactly like you :-) This is what you can do with Jo Malones Cologne! You can mix different smells together to create another completely different and unique smell.

I chose two Colognes that I love wearing by themselves and that I also love wearing together. They are completely different one from other but I think the smell is great and completely me! I have Wood Sage & Sea Salt which reminds me of my trip to France in Bretagne by the sea. (dream, dream, dream...) The smell of it is unique and quite woody and fresh with lots of peps. The other one I have is Blackberry and bay. Its smell is fruity and quite masculine I think but I love this one. And when you mix both of them together it gives another smell which I love, I think the combination is great.

When I was at the Jo Malone shop the woman helped me a lot. She asked me what smell I like and asked me a few questions about myself. She made me smell a few and I loved them all! I finally made up my mind and came back the next day to buy my two favourites. It's really personalized and I really like this concept.

Have you ever tried Jo Malone's Cologne? What is your favourite smell?
I will talk to you soon,

My january nail polishes

I am a huge fan of nail vanishes. My nails are always painted and I love to change the colour as often as I can! After all the glitter on my nails for the Christmas and party season I like a bit of change. Here are my three favourites at the moment.

1. Kiko nail lacquer, in number 227
This burgundy color is stunning. I love this color on my nails from autumn to the end of winter. I see myself wearing this a lot and I never get tired of it!

2. OPI nail lacquer, in My dogsled is a hybrid
This nail polish is from the Nordic Collection from OPI eye and is amazing. It's a kind of blue-green-dark mint colour (and so hard to describe...). It reminds me of cold Winters with snow. It's a colour that you don't see very often and I had so many compliments by wearing it on my nails.

3. Essie nail lacquer, in Mademoiselle
This nail vanish is a light pink-nude colour. I put 2 to 3 coats and the result is great on the nails. It gives a really neat effect and makes your nails look great. I love these kind of polishes (as well as really dark ones) because I feel it makes your hands light and beautiful!

What is your favourite nail colour at the moment? I hope you enjoyed reading this and I will talk to you soon,
Love Lili Rose

Lush addiction

Yes I am one of them (a Lush addict) and every time I pass near a Lush Shop I just can't resist! You can smell it in the whole street and you just have to enter to have a sniff and look at all the amazing things they have.

If you're not familiar with Lush, it's a brand with handmade products which fights animal testing, is 100% vegeterian (and in part vegan) and makes body, face and hair products as well as makeup and perfume. Their products smell amazing and are colourful and glittery... If you're more interested I suggest you just check out their website or go directly into a Lush Shop!

I didn't have the chance to test all of the Lush Products (is this even possible?!) but I'm going to talk about some of my favourites!

1. Rose Jam Shower Gel
I absolutely love this shower gel because of its smell (Roses of couuuurse!) but also because it makes a lot of bubbles. I use it with a bath flower (is it called a bath flower? I don't really know... If not, it's the fluffy thing you use to wash yourself! I found mind at the body shop) and it's great. What I also appreciate with this shower gel is that the smell last for a long time on the skin. I can still smell it on my skin in the morning (if I shower in the evening) and even throughout the day! Great product I love it :)

2. Tisty Tosty bath bomb
Roses again I'm sorry but it's just my favourite smell! And this little bath bomb with rosebuds and heart shaped is so cute. I think they are several oils in it as well, which helps nourish your skin. I sometimes find that some bath products dehydrate your skin but it's not the case with this bath bomb! I like it very much :)

3. Mask of Magnaminty Self-Preserving
It's the mask from Lush I own at the moment and it's been my favourite until now. I know there is peppermint oil in it (it smells like the little after-eight chocolate I have at home... Mmmm!). The texture is quite thick and refreshing as you apply it to the skin. I leave it for 5 to 10 minutes and as you remove it, you gently exfoliate your skin at the same time because there are primrose seeds and aduki beans in it. I use it once a week and I can really tell the difference when I use it or not. I have less rednesses, my pores look smaller, my skin healthier (I really think my skin looks healthy after using this mask... Is this weird?). Again, I love it :)

4. Popcorn Lip Scrub
This next product I find so cool! It comes in a tiny pot filled with sugar, coconut and jojoba oil and sea salt. You take a bit of product with your finger, rub your lips and rinse it of (The best part of it is that you can actually eat it! It tastes like candy). Your lips feel so soft after that. I then apply a Lip Balm and my lips feel so great. I really like this product :)

5. The Comforter Bubble Bar
This last product I wanted to talk you about is a Bubble Bar. You break it into pieces and you can use it in several times. You crumble it under the tap and it will make loads and loads of bubbles. The Comforter contains cassis and bergamot and smells really good!

I can't wait to try out more of their products. I'm especially interested is some hair care!
I hope this article was useful and I will talk to you soon,
Love Lili Rose

Get the look

For this month I wanted to put an outfit together which I wore most of the time in January. It's simple, comfortable and warm. That's everything we want right? I love the topshop Toni jeans, I think they super duper comfy and fit very nicely on. I completely fell in love with those Doctor Martens shoes when I saw them so I had to put them here. Sweats are a must in winter because they keep you warm while looking nice as well as the beanie and the scarf. I particularly love this scarf (not only because it's burgundy!) because of the Faux Fur pompom! It adds a little something to the look. And to finish can we please take a moment for this bag? (Wouuuup I loooooove it!) This swedish brand knew what they were doing. This backpacks is so handy, you can put a lot in it and it doesn't hurt on the back at all! (I think that the brand made these to help with the backs problem in primar school! Cool huh?)
Anyway I hope you like the look and I will talk to you soon,
Love Lili Rose
